One of the fastest-growing and increasingly popular wedding trends today is vow renewals. Many couples choose to celebrate milestone anniversaries with a special renewal of their wedding vows in a ceremony in which their children, and even grandchildren, can be a part. Surrounded by family and both old and new friends they’ve made over the years, vow renewals are usually a less formal event than the actual wedding ceremony years ago, but filled with just as much meaning.
If you’re lucky enough to still have your parents, they can even walk you “down the aisle” again. Or your children can take the role of honor, with grandchildren serving as flower girls and ring bearers, or, as in many of today’s ceremonies, as the “sign carriers” before the bride comes in. It’s up to you!
We really adore these vow renewal ceremonies, because it’s such a special reaffirmation of lasting love! You can choose to have your vow renewal for a special milestone year, on the same date, or on any other date you choose. There are really no rules this time! It’s how, and where, YOU want it to be.
And don’t forget the party after the ceremony! Not really your traditional wedding reception, (you’re certainly not going to have a garter toss, but you may want to toss your bouquet to the grandchildren!) but a fun-filled party to celebrate your lives together!
We’d love to help you plan your vow renewal or other special ceremony. Contact us to set up an appointment to discuss your ideas and let’s start making your plans.
Remember, it’s YOUR wedding, or in this case, your special celebration. And you deserve to have it YOUR way!
